Online Teaching Essentials Workshop 🏅

This 10-day workshop explores the fundamental aspects of teaching online, focusing on the functional roles of an online instructor. The workshop emphasizes practicality, offering activities applicable to online classes and providing both direct tools and pedagogical inspiration. Cohorts typically run before each term. Online Course Design Essentials Workshop 🏅

This self-paced, asynchronous workshop introduces you to foundational course design practices. The goal of this course is to prepare and empower faculty to design effective courses based on foundational concepts, best practices, and quality standards in online teaching and learning, including course alignment, course design, accessibility, Universal Design for Learning, and selecting learning technology tools. This self-paced asynchronous course, thoughtfully crafted by the St. Kate's Instructional Design team, serves as an introductory-level resource. It covers the fundamental principles of course creation and instructional delivery using the Canvas learning management system.

Designing Effective Short Courses: Strategies for Success

This self-paced, asynchronous training course equips faculty with the tools and strategies to convert a semester-long course into a half-term course. Participants will learn strategies for adapting existing standard-length courses into effective condensed formats that maintain educational quality. The course emphasizes prioritizing essential material and methods to engage students most effectively in a short amount of time.
