Advising Students
The resources included on this page represent advising resources connected to the Office of the Registrar. These are geared toward faculty whose teaching responsibilities include advising students. These resources can be beneficial even if you are not a faculty advisor.
- Faculty Advising Resources - This KB article provides tips and links to additional resources, which is especially if you are a new faculty advisor.
- Faculty/Advisory Security Information - This link provides information about processes the faculty/advisor has access to and the rules related to the role. For example, if you are not an active faculty member but are an advisor, you would be able to see your advisees’ grades.
- Advising Questionnaire - Use this questionnaire to co-create a plan for success with your advisees. (*Note: This resource is not from the Office of the Registrar.)
- Course Schedules - This is an electronic version of the course catalog, where you can search for courses within the current or past terms; meeting days/times, faculty teaching the course, credits, and other course information are all available here.
- Degree Eval/Degree Works - Find information on students’ credits and program requirements, calculate their GPA, and make advising notes using Degree Works.
- Student Advising Profile - This link provides faculty with a condensed overview of their advisees' statuses, such as program, major, school, and academic standing.
- Forms for Faculty/Advisors - Information on Academic Integrity Referral Form, Course Changes for Catalog, Graduate Degree Authorization, Honors and Award Form, Request to Change Grade, and other forms.
- Registration History - Registration history will allow you to see a student’s or advisee’s courses and grades.
- Transfer Evaluation System (TES) - Direct transfer students here to review their eligibility for credit hours at St. Kate’s for prior or alternative learning experiences, including other higher education coursework, military service, and on-the-job training.
