Specialized Coursework
Antonian Honors Program
The Antonian Honors Program offers undergraduate students of exceptional ability and motivation an opportunity to develop their learning and leadership skills by completing four interdisciplinary honors seminars and creating original research or creative work for their senior honors project.
Global Studies & Teach Abroad
Teaching a short-term course abroad or off campus is an excellent way to take an academic subject outside of a traditional classroom setting and connect it to the realities and experiences of the world. The Teach Abroad webpage offers more information on developing a Global Studies course, while the Global Studies office webpage provides information for students to help them select a program that aligns with their interests, academic goals, and course timeline and offers continued support from the application phase through to the return to campus.
Community-Engaged Learning
Writing Intensive
The Writing Intensive Program (WIP) consists of 74 writing intensive (WI) courses spanning across the University’s schools and colleges. Visit the WIP webpage to learn more the program, including information about WI course requirements and how to propose a new WI course.
Research & Creative Intensive
Research and Creative Inquiry Intensive (RCI) courses integrate scholarly inquiry into the curriculum. In these courses, students engage in the process of research and/or creative inquiry, contribute knowledge or apply ideas to new problems, generate original work, and acquire skills that will prepare them for future research and scholarly work. Visit the RCI webpage to learn more about the program, including information about RCI course requirements, how to propose a new RCI course, and FAQs for students.
Team Intensive
A new intensive course designation, Team Intensive (TI), was rolled out in AY2023-2024. TI courses currently are offered in a handful of Health Sciences courses, with more courses continuing to be added each academic year. Because the program is newer, there is no webpage available. See your program chair or dean if you have questions about TI courses.
