The following resources represent training opportunities designed by the St. Kate's Academic Technology team, intended for use by St. Catherine University faculty.

Online Teaching Essentials Workshop

This 10-day workshop explores the fundamental aspects of teaching online, focusing on the functional roles of an online instructor. The workshop emphasizes practicality, offering activities applicable to online classes and providing both direct tools and pedagogical inspiration. 

Cohorts run before the term in January, May, and August. Check for updates on upcoming registration opportunities!
 

Online Course Design Essentials Workshop

This self-paced, asynchronous workshop introduces you to foundational course design practices that can be implemented in both fully online and hybrid environments, examining special considerations for each of the two delivery formats. The goal of this course is to prepare and empower faculty to design effective online and hybrid courses based on foundational concepts, best practices, and quality standards in online teaching and learning, including course alignment, course design, accessibility, Universal Design for Learning, and selecting learning technology tools.

This course is currently available for enrollment.

Canvas Training Course

This self-paced asynchronous course, thoughtfully crafted by the St. Kate's Instructional Design team, serves as an introductory-level resource. It covers the fundamental principles of course creation and instructional delivery using the Canvas learning management system.

We provide training opportunities on the utilization of learning applications for faculty, staff, programs, and students alike. If you are interested in having Academic Technology conduct training for you, your program, faculty, or class, please submit an Academic Tech Tequest through Service Now. A dedicated member of our Academic Technology team will promptly reach out to you to discuss your specific training requirements.
